Inlays and onlays are molded to fit your teeth precisely, so how do they differ? Inlays are designed to match the grooves between the cusps of a tooth. Onlays cover more tooth surface, often including the tips of those cusps. This procedure can strengthen the overall structure of your tooth and because the restoration is bonded and sealed it prevents bacteria from being able to enter and form new cavities.
