"During each of my three pregnancies, my teeth suffered tremendously. After my last child was born, 12 years ago, I had all of my back teeth removed. Then, because of being absolutely terrified of any dentist, I went for years not being able to smile without covering my mouth and eating with only my front teeth. Then the enamel started breaking off of my remaining teeth. I hated it. Then, I saw an ad for Dental Excellence of Napoleon. I got up enough nerve to at least call. The voice on the other end of the phone was so kind and understanding when I explained my situation. I made an appointment to see Dr. Carpenter.
It turned out to be the best phone call I ever made. On the way to my first visit, I was sick with anxiety. And, Dr. Carpenter and his staff were well aware of that.
I walked into a warm, welcoming atmosphere. All of the staff had smiles and warm welcomes for me. I got in the chair and was even embarrassed to open my mouth. But, I did. The staff was not judgmental, only kind and making sure I was doing “ok”.
Then Dr. Carpenter and I discussed and finalized a plan for my teeth. We went over everything he would be doing and the cost. There were no surprises.
When the day came to begin the work, I was scared to death. But, once I got there and was greeted by the staff and Dr. Carpenter, I was a lot more at ease. At one point, while he was working on my teeth, I began to shiver. It could have been nerves, the Novocain, or both. The next thing I knew, here came Dr. Carpenter’s assistant with a warm, soft blanket with which she covered me. How nice was that?
I spent plenty of time in Dr. Carpenter’s chair. I had two root canals, several crowns, eight veneers, procedures for my bite, impressions, and customized partials made for my missing teeth. After all of that, we went through visits for filing and contouring of my new teeth to achieve the perfect smile for me.
Dr. Carpenter, along with his staff, was so caring and understanding throughout the whole process. They catered to my every need. Through it all, I felt absolutely no pain. Actually, I became so relaxed I actually dozed off a few times while he was working on me. On the days when I had extreme work done, Dr. Carpenter would call me that evening to check on me. That is a dentist who cares about his patients.
At Dr. Carpenter’s office you are not just another patient, you are an individual with individualized attention. Always smiling faces and a warm “hello” from the staff, and Dr. Carpenter himself.
When all of my work was done, the staff and Dr. Carpenter were as excited as I was!! I felt like a new person with my bright new smile. It was truly a new beginning for me.
I put my trust in Dr. Carpenter and he never let me down. Now, when I walk in for a cleaning , I don’t feel like I’m walking into a dentist office, but like going to visit friends.
